Isleden House, Islington Receives Royal Visitor

recently as part of the estate’s anniversary celebrations.
The Duchess met a number of residents in the estate including
Dolly Wren the longest serving resident whose idea it was to have a
Royal visit to celebrate the 60th Anniversary.
Dolly said: "I was here when Queen Mary opened the flats, we
were a special building then and that hasn't changed over the
years, it was an honour to meet The Duchess and show her that after
60 years we are still a special community at Isleden and I am proud
to live here."
Speaking about the visit, Mr Billy Dove, Chairman of Community
and Children’s Services at the City of London said: "Despite being
in a wheel chair, due to a leg injury sustained while hill walking,
The Duchess chatted to everyone and made it a happy and memorable
occasion. It was a pleasure to welcome her to the Estate."
Megan and Lily Griffin presented Her Royal Highness with
flowers. They are the youngest members of four generations of the
one family living in three separate units within Isleden House.
The Duchess also met a number of students from the City of
