Top marks for the City's Adult Social Care
The City of London Corporation’s Adult Social Care Services
department has been awarded three stars, the top mark available in
its 2008 performance rating by the Commission for Social Care
Inspection. The CSCI also awarded the City of London an "excellent"
rating in its ability to "deliver outcomes" and "capacity for
improvement."
The CSCI said: "The workforce is small, well-trained, and
delivers high quality services. Systems for managing performance
and the budget are strong, effective and are monitored closely
following improvements made in 2007/2008.
"The City has good knowledge of the needs of its residents,
identifying needs for the future. This knowledge was used with
health partners to target and improve health provision."
Simon Temerlies, Adult Services Director at the City of London
Corporation said: "This is a fantastic result for all the staff in
the Adult Services team and is a testament to their hard-work and
commitment to the department."
