Shanghai delegation visit Square Mile
Representatives from the Shanghai Municipal Information
Commission and the Shanghai Finance Bureau visited the City of
London Corporation earlier this month to hear how the organisation
uses the latest technology to improve customer services.
The six-strong delegation were welcomed to the Square Mile on
Tuesday 14 October by the City of London Corporation’s Deputy Town
Clerk, Susan Attard, and colleagues from various departments,
including Economic Development Department, IT, and the Guildhall
Art Gallery and Roman Amphitheatre.
The visit began with a briefing on the City of London by the
Deputy Town Clerk, followed by a tour of the Roman Amphitheatre at
the Guildhall Art Gallery, and also included talks on customer
service, innovation and e-Government business change.
Susan Attard, Deputy Town Clerk, City of London Corporation,
said: “We were delighted to welcome our guests from Shanghai to the
City, and to provide them an interesting and entertaining
programme. Their feedback was very positive, so I hope that they
can take back some useful information on how the City Corporation
prides itself on delivering world-class services to businesses,
residents and visitors.”
Jian Lui, Vice Chairman of Shanghai Municipal Information
Commission, said: “London has already been a world-class finance
centre, and it is also the top priority for the Shanghai Municipal
Government to build up as a finance centre of Asia. There is a lot
that we could learn from London, and also a lot of opportunities to
co-operate with each other. This visit has given us some new ideas
and will greatly benefit our work in the future.”
