Hampstead & Highgate Festival takes to the Heath

Hampstead Heath will be the venue for two City of London-supported family events as part of the 10th annual Hampstead & Highgate Festival (7-17 May 2008).

Saturday 10 May, 1.00-3.00pm

Join in a free, lazy afternoon of Blues at Parliament Hill bandstand with the fabulous Blues Boys. No booking required – just turn up (in bad weather, event will take place in Parliament Hill café).

Location – Parliament Hill bandstand, off Highgate Road. Tube: Kentish Town; Train: Gospel Oak.

Saturday 17 May, 2.00-3.45pm

Celebrate the final day of the festival on a high note with a musically-themed walk across Hampstead Heath. Meet at the Education Centre, at the side of the Lido (off Gordon House Road) at 2.00pm. Walk ends at St John-at-Hampstead Church, Church Row, NW3 in time to catch the end of rehearsals for that evening’s gala performance by the Hampstead and Highgate Festival Orchestra.
Walk suitable for Children aged seven to 14 years (must be accompanied by an appropriate parent). This is a free event but pre-booking is essential. Call Festival box office on 0870 033 2733.
