Guildhall state banquet in honour of His Excellency The President of The Republic of Ghana and Mrs Kufuor  

7.00pm on Wednesday 14 March 2007
at Guildhall, off Gresham Street, London , EC2

On Wednesday 14 March, in the presence of Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, the City of London Corporation and the Lord Mayor of the City of London will host a Banquet in honour of His Excellency The President of The Republic Of Ghana and Mrs Kufuor.

On their arrival at Guildhall, the President and Mrs Kufuor will be greeted by a Royal Salute, given by the Guard of Honour, and the Ghanaian National Anthem will be played. The President will then be invited to inspect the Guard of Honour.

The Lord Mayor of the City of London , Alderman John Stuttard, will speak after Dinner and the President will reply.

The following media opportunities will be available:

  1. Arrivals on Guildhall Porch - from 7.00pm
    and inspection of the Guard of Honour
  2. Procession into Dinner in Great Hall - from 7.50pm
  3. Speeches after Dinner in Great Hall - from 9.45pm

Information

To apply:

  • Please submit requests on the application form (below) by 12.00 midday Monday 12 March . Requests will be confirmed by fax or email on Tuesday 13 March.
  • Due to high demand, spaces for the media are limited and you will therefore be advised whether your application has been successful on Tuesday 13 March.

At the banquet:

  • Photographers and reporters attending the event are asked to arrive between 6.15pm to 6.45pm .
  • Members of the media should report to the Main Reception at Guildhall (corner of Gresham Street and Aldermanbury, EC2), where they will be given their security passes.
  • Please ensure that all members of the media are suitably dressed in dark lounge suits or the equivalent for ladies.
  • Please also ensure that ALL MOBILE TELEPHONES AND PAGERS are switched off throughout the event (both inside and outside).
