Dive in to summer at Parliament Hill lido

The Parliament Hill Lido on Hampstead Heath celebrates the beginning of the summer season with a breakfast opening on Saturday 5 May.

Visitors to the Grade II listed outdoor pool can enjoy free tea, coffee, croissants and fruit from 9.00am when they buy a day ticket. A pool-side yoga class will take place at 10.00am for those keen to get in shape for the summer.

The lido offers only morning swimming during the winter months. But from 5 May until 23 September 2007, swimmers can attend early morning sessions (7.00am-9.00am daily) and take the plunge after work (adults only) on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays, 6.45pm-8.00pm in addition to the daytime sessions (10.00am-6.00pm).

A range of tickets for the lido and Heath bathing ponds are on offer, while under 16s and over 65s can swim for free at the early morning sessions during a trial period for summer 2007.

The Art Deco lido reopened to the public in May 2005 after a £2.9million refit which included installing a stainless steel lining to the pool.

Bob Hall, Chairman of Hampstead Heath Management Committee, said: "The lido has been tremendously popular over the last two summers and I am confident that 2007 will be another great season."
