City’s businesswomen mark International Women’s Day

Women’s contribution to the success of the Square Mile will be top of the menu at a breakfast in the City to mark International Women’s Day on 8 March.

International Women’s Day is an annual event marked around the world which celebrates the significant role that women have played, and continue to play, in shaping history.

This week’s event will be the first of its kind for the City of London and will bring together an exceptional coalition of women to celebrate and recognise the contribution of women in the work-force.

As well as providing a unique networking opportunity, the champagne breakfast at JP Morgan’s London Head Quarters will benefit two charities: the national domestic violence charity Refuge and FANY, the Princess Royal’s Volunteer Corps.

The event is chaired by Mei Sim Lai, Managing Director of LaiPeters Limited. The speakers are:

  • Julie Chakraverty, Global head of Fixed Income Analytics and Client Connectivity and Global COO for Fixed Income Client Coverage, UBS
  • Shelley White, Chancery Commercial Barrister, New Square Chambers
  • Angela Mortimer, Chairman, Angela Mortimer Recruitment
