Museum of London is funded jointly by the City of London
Corporation and the Greater London Authority.
The Museum tells the story of London and Londoners from
prehistoric times to the present day. It recently underwent a £20m
redevelopment and reopened in spring 2010. For details of the
collections, exhibitions, events, opening times and how to get
there, visit the
Museum of London website.
Museum of London also includes
Museum of London Docklands and
Museum of London Archaeology; together these
three destinations seek to inspire a passion for London. Housed in
a Grade I listed Georgian warehouse at West India Quay, Museum of
London Docklands explores the 2,000-year history of the river, port
and its people. Museum of London Archaeology conducts excavations
which continually remap our understanding of the city. Based in
Hackney, it provides independent professional advice and services
to property sector and heritage clients and is the home of the
Museum’s extensive archaeological archive, with finds from all over
London.
