Is the House open all year round?
No, we are closed for August and on all Bank Holidays.
How long is the tour?
An hour.
Are Children allowed?
The tours are unsuitable for most under-14s.
What about animals?
Only guide dogs are allowed.
Is it accessible to people with disabilities?
Yes: there is a ramp into the building, disabled toilets facilities, a sound loop in the Egyptian Hall and lift access to all floors. However, much of the art collection is on the stairs and it is difficult to see all of the collection from the top/ the bottom of the stairs.
Can I take pictures?
No flash photography or video cameras are permitted and you are asked to turn mobile phones off.
Can I buy any souvenirs of my visit?
The official Mansion House guidebook is available at the door costing £5 (English only) and an Art catalogue for £8.50; and a selection of other fun and historic merchandise can be bought at the Guildhall Art Gallery or via the online shop.
What happens if my tour is cancelled?
This happens very occasionally. A new date will be arranged.
Is there a cafe or are refreshments available?
No.
Are there toilets for visitors?
Yes, including wheelchair-accessible toilets.
