Karin Weber
2 March – 28 March
Exhibition
Barbican Library
Karin Weber’s figures show a rare and difficult combination of
wit and movement. She casts a perceptive and amused eye at the
travails of the would be modern woman attempting to keep pace with
the perceived and rigorous demands of a 21st century lifestyle.
Weber left her native South Africa as a political refugee during
the apartheid regime. She has worked and exhibited in the United
States and Europe and now has an atelier in St. Martial de
Viveyrols, in South West France. Karin also paints in the
traditional medium of oils, capturing the light of the moment in
her discovery of the Dordogne.
