Urgent and essential information for those planning an
event in 2012
The Olympics, the
Queen's Diamond Jubilee and a host of other major events
means 2012 will be an extra busy year for London. Early allocation
of public services such as policing and street cleaning will
therefore be essential if we are to ensure the year is a success
for all - workers, businesses, residents and visitors alike.
The City of London Corporation is working closely with the GLA
and other London boroughs to ensure a co-ordinated response to the
public service needs of all events. As part of this planning the
Mayor of London called for anyone planning an event during 2012 -
however small - to provide information about it by 31 March 2011.
This could be done via an online diary
www.theculturediary.com (to which event
planners needed to register by the 31 December 2010) for culture
events, and for all other events by informing the relevant Borough.
The deadline for this process has now passed and
assessment of those events registered has commenced.
