City of London Almshouses Trust

Greshams almshouses in Brixton The City of London Almshouses are a small development of fully modernised one-bedroom self-contained dwellings on ground and first floors set within a conservation area.  They provide homes for people aged over 55 on a below average income or state benefits, who are in need of housing and require sheltered accommodation.

The City of London Almshouses Trust is a charity registered with the Charity Commission and a housing association registered with the Housing Corporation. The Trust is administered by a body of Trustees who give their services voluntarily. The Almshouses are managed on behalf of the Trustees by the City of London.

There are no communal facilities at the Almshouses although residents enjoy the use of a large lawn area and landscaped gardens. There are two resident staff on site who work in shifts, and a pull-cord system out-of-hours.

The Almshouses are situated in Ferndale Road, Brixton, and are conveniently close to a large shopping area, public transport and local amenities.
