The City of London, in line with its Affordable Housing
Strategy, is actively seeking to fund Housing Associations to
provide new affordable and/or supported housing. The City will do
this by:
- Ensuring housing targets within the City of London take into
account The London Plan/Mayor's monitoring requirements
- Ensure affordable housing targets are periodically reviewed to
meet need
- Identify an Affordable Housing Fund from pooled s106 (planning
gain) funding
- Identify possible new build schemes to fund or part fund in
return for nomination rights to any properties developed
- Investigate using Affordable Housing Fund for Registered Social
Landlords (Housing Associations) to purchase street properties
direct with nominations to City
- Investigate the potential to develop affordable housing on
under utilised land on our Housing Revenue Account (HRA)
estates
