Housing association - financial assistance

The City of London, in line with its Affordable Housing Strategy, is actively seeking to fund Housing Associations to provide new affordable and/or supported housing. The City will do this by:

  • Ensuring housing targets within the City of London take into account The London Plan/Mayor's monitoring requirements
  • Ensure affordable housing targets are periodically reviewed to meet need
  • Identify an Affordable Housing Fund from pooled s106 (planning gain) funding
  • Identify possible new build schemes to fund or part fund in return for nomination rights to any properties developed
  • Investigate using Affordable Housing Fund for Registered Social Landlords (Housing Associations) to purchase street properties direct with nominations to City
  • Investigate the potential to develop affordable housing on under utilised land on our  Housing Revenue Account (HRA) estates

If you require further information on housing associations or affordable housing contact the Housing Needs Section on 020 7332 3141.
