The Tenant Services Authority (TSA) is the new national
regulator for all social housing landlords. The City of London is
registered with the TSA from 1 April 2010 - download

The TSA has set six national standards that all social
housing landlords must meet - download the

Tenants and landlords have worked together over the past
two years to develop the standards. This is the first time
that both local authorities, and housing associations, have had the
same regulator. Having only six national standards means
tenants can easily see what should be provided by their landlord,
regardless of where they live.
Tenant involvement and empowerment is at the heart of the TSA as
it has been set up to protect the interests of social housing
tenants.
The Tenant Participatory Advisory Service (TPAS) is a national
body that specialises in providing training and advice to social
housing tenants.
Defend Council Housing (DCH) is a political body that aims
to prevent the sale of more Council homes.
The Chartered Insitute of Housing (CIH) is the
national body for the social housing sector. It is a membership
body that is made up of housing professionals. The CIH runs some
accredited training courses for tenants who are actively involved
in housing matters and with their landlord.
