CITY OF LONDON

You are in the section:
City of London > Services > Health and social care > Help for adults > Contributions

Contributions

We ask for a contribution from service users to make sure that there are enough resources available to meet people’s needs. We want to make the limited social care resources go further and ensure they are distributed fairly.

Service users undergo a financial assessment to understand the contribution they are required to make.

Download more detail about this process in the leaflet Financial Assessment (PDF, 694kb)

People whose sole income is income support, job seekers allowance or guaranteed pension credit do not pay a charge under either the current or proposed systems.

Consultation

We are proposing to change the way in which we calculate contributions for non-residential social care support and to limit the City of London Corporation’s contribution to the cost of new residential placements for older people. Options have been recommended to the Corporation Committee.

Download these options and the reasons for the changes in the leaflet Social Care Contributions Consultation (PDF, 897kb).

We want to know your opinion on these proposed changes. Please read the leaflet and then download and complete the questionnaire (PDF, 900kb)

Please return to:

David Mason, Adults Services,
PO Box 270, Guildhall, 2nd Floor North Wing, London, EC2P 2EJ

The consultation will run until 16 September 2011.
