Products of animal origin
The charges for veterinary checks of Products of Animal Origin
have been harmonised in accordance with Council Regulation
882/2004. The charges for 2012 were set by Defra in OVS Note
2011/45 and applied to consignments arriving from 1 January
2012. The schedule of 2012 charges for London
PHA are available below, along with the 2011 charges.

High Risk Foods - updated 6 October 2010
LPHA has carried out a review of its charges
for official controls carried out on imports of certain
feed and food of non-animal origin that require a CED. As a result
of this review, there are new charges that will come into
effect on 7 October 2010 to reflect the categories of food
and feed together with the checks that are carried out. These
are set out in the documents below together with the analytical
fees.

Plastic kitchenware
LPHA has set its charges for checks on plastic kitchenware
originating from China and Kong Kong. these can be downloaded and
include worked examples of how the charges will apply.

Organic products
The charge for the endorsement of the Certificate of Inspection
is £45 per certificate. This has been set in consultation with
Defra and may be reviewed.
Ship Sanitation Control Certificates and Ship Sanitation Control
Exemption Certificates
London Port Health Authority is authorised to issue both
certificates for vessels at all ports and terminals within its
district, please contact the appropriate port office giving as much
notice as possible. Forms requesting a certificate along with
the charges can be downloaded.

At a meeting of
The Association of Port Health Authorities
in January 2011, it was agreed by its members a number of
changes to the standard charging regime for the issue of these
certificates. A new lower band has been introduced for vessels
up to 1000 gross tonnage and the other fees have been increased.
This is the first time the charges have been changed since
2008.
Catch Certificates
Fees for checking Catch Certificates for imports of certain
categories of fish and fishery products as required by the Illegal,
Unregulated and Unreported Regulations (Commission Regulation (EC)
No 1005/2008) up to now have been set by individual port health
authorities. The Association of Port health Authorities following
consultion with its members and Defra has recommended a scale
of fees. LPHA will apply these fees to catch certificates as from 1
April 2011.
