Items to take to the Post Office with your application


To get your freedom pass from the Post Office you will need to take to the Post Office the following items:

  1. two passport-sized photographs of yourself (or an existing freedom pass photocard)
  2. an existing freedom pass, (with expiry date of 31st March 2006), if you have one.
  3. one example of proof of name:
    • Passport
    • Medical Card
    • Birth Certificate (unless your name has changed)
    • New style driving licence
    • Current freedom pass
  4. one example of proof of address:
    • Council/Housing Association rent book
    • TV Licence
    • Driving Licence
  5. The following items dated within the last 3 months:
    • Utility bill
    • Bank/Building society statement
    • Inland Revenue letter
    • Council Tax bill/letter
    • Benefits Agency letter
    • Council Tax Payment Book/Benefits Book

If you are applying for an Older Person’s freedom pass you will also need:

  • one example of proof of age

If you are applying for a Disabled Person’s freedom pass you will also need:

  • your authorisation form (from City of London Department of Community and Children’s Services).

You will then be issued with a plastic wallet containing your freedom pass and Photocard.
