Extension of food waste collection service to privately
managed blocks of flats in the City
Following on the success of the food waste collection service on
the City estates, the service has now been extended to
privately managed blocks of flats that have bin stores in the City
so that residents in these properties can send their food waste for
composting.
Residents in these blocks are provided with a kitchen
caddy and rolls of special liners. Communal food waste bins will
also be placed in the bin stores where residents can take their
food waste.
If you have any queries about your food waste service or if you
wish to request a caddy, a larger caddy or food-waste liners,
please call our Contact Centre on 020 7606 3110.
How the scheme will work
What we will provide
- a five litre kitchen caddy for collecting your food waste
- a roll of compostable liners
How to use my food caddy?
Line your caddy with one of the special caddy liners and
place all food waste within the liner.
Please only use the liners provided to line your caddy as
they are made of special material that can be
composted.
When it is full tie your liner and use your caddy to carry food
waste to your bin store.
Place your food waste liner in the food waste bin in your bin
store
