Upcoming events in the City

  • Fairtrade Fortnight 2011 will be packed with activities in the City. The theme this year will be 'Show off your label' with a strong focus on Fairtrade cotton (28 February - 13 March 2011)

Recent events in the City

  • Fairtrade stand at the Barbican Library Fete (29 October 2010) Seminar entitled 'The
  • Business Case for Fairtrade' aimed at educating businesses and organisations in the City about the benefits of Fairtrade for both the producers and their business (20 October 2010).
  • Fairtrade stand at the City Business Library's Under One Roof event which provided advice and assistance to SMEs (20 October 2010)
  • Fairtrade stand at the City of London Corporation's 'Big Green Day'. The event took place in the Guildhall Yard and showcased the sustainable work already happening in the City of London Corporation.

  • A Fairtrade walk during the Love London Festival, offering the opportunity to learn more about Fairtrade products and to meet thought leaders, who are involved in the City's Fairtrade campaign, on 10 June 2008
  • A Business Breakfast, concerned with the implementation and effects of fair-trade purchasing in business, hosted by the City of London Corporation on 25 February 2008
  • A Lunchtime Debate about the question “What is the point of fair-trade?” hosted by JustShare at the St. Mary-le-Bow church on 25 February 2008
  • A world record attempt for the largest fair-trade Coffee Morning, organised by the Fairtrade Foundation and AMT in Liverpool Street Station on 28 February 2008
  • A fair-trade Coffee Morning, as part of ActionAid's 24 Hour Tea & Coffee Break, organised by the City of London’s Retired and Senior Volunteer Programme, at the Sir Ralph Perring Club on 29 February 2008
  • A fair-trade Wine Tasting hosted by JustShare at the St. Mary-le-Bow church, supported by the City of London Corporation, on 5 March 2008
  • A Fairtrade / Environmental Day, hosted by the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, aimed at raising awareness of fairtrade / green issues / products among staff and students
