What individuals can do to tackle climate change

Everyone can make small changes towards more sustainable and less carbon intensive lifestyles. Most of these actions save money, too. Some examples of these types of changes are listed below, and you may already have taken some of them on board.

To play your part, you could...

  • reduce, reuse, recycle more
  • take public transport, walk or cycle to work
  • switch to energy efficient light bulbs
  • volunteer in one of the many open spaces both within and outside the City
  • choose green forms of energy when selecting your energy provider
  • support small and medium sized businesses in the City and City fringes by buying locally, and talk to the business manager about your commitment to a low-carbon lifestyle
  • provide natural habitats for animals and plant species on your balcony or in your garden

For further ideas on what you could do, please visit the Act on CO2 website.
