Recycle on the go


Street Recycling Bins

Commuters, tourists and the general public can now recycle when they are out and about in the City of London.

To make it easier for you to "recycle on the go", a number of recycling bins for newspapers and mixed recycling have been placed in busy areas for you to use.

The following materials can be placed in the mixed recycling bins:

  • newspapers and magazines
  • card
  • drinks cans
  • glass bottles
  • plastic bottles and containers
  • waxed paper cups

Mixed recycling bins can be found at:

  • Aldermanbury by the gardens   
  • Aldermanbury Square / Basinghall Street  
  • Barbican Station on Aldersgate Street    
  • Chancery Lane Station on High Holborn
  • Royal Exchange Buildings 

Newspaper and magazine recycling bins can be found at:

  • Aldermanbury by the gardens  
  • Aldgate Station on Aldgate High Street
  • Bank Station on Cornhill / Lombard Street
  • Bank Station on Princess Street / Poultry   
  • Blackfriars Station on Queen Victoria Street
  • Cannon Street Station  
  • Chancery Lane Station on High Holborn 
  • Cheapside / Panyer Alley  
  • Fenchurch Street
  • Festival Gardens on New Change    
  • Liverpool Street Station on Bishopsgate
  • Liverpool Street Underground Station
  • Mansion House Station Subway on Bow Lane
  • Mansion House Station on Queen Victoria Street   
  • Moorgate Station on Moorfields
  • Thameslink Station on Holborn Viaduct 

The money raised by the City of London from the sale of recycling materials is used to support other services.
