Bulky items
Large household items such as furniture, fridges, washing
machines and televisions, etc are collected through the Bulky Waste
Collection Service. Large electrical and electronic items will be
sent on for recycling.
To arrange a collection please phone 020 7606
3110. This service is only available to residents of the City
of London.
In 2011 a new charge has been introduced for
household Bulky Waste Collections to cover the cost of collection
and disposal.
There is a charge of £25 for up to three items or ten
standard bags.
Collections made from specific ground-floor collection
points on City Estates will be free of charge. Please contact your
Estate Office for details of the collection points.
What if I have additional items?
Each collection is for up to three items or ten
bags. If you want to have between four and six items
collected, there will be an additional charge of £25, totalling
£50.
How can I pay?
Payments can be made via debit card or credit card by calling
our Contact Centre on 020 7606 3110.
What counts as 'bulky waste'?
Items such as furniture, cookers, fridges, carpets and floor
coverings and waste contained in sacks can all be taken. We don't
however take any trade, garden or building materials.
Alternatively, look out for a Recycling Roadshow near
you.
Most months there will be a free special collection service,
usually on a Saturday, with vehicles on site at the four main
estates within the city, to allow you to dispose of items such
as:
- old furniture
- electrical items
- large bulky items
- garden waste
- video tapes
- general refuse
- DIY waste
- kitchen appliances
Not trade waste or hazardous waste such as
asbestos and chemicals.
