The Listed Building Management Guidelines were approved in May
2005 and now have the status of Supplementary Planning Guidance.
This means that the guidelines will be one of the considerations
for Planning Officers when determining applications for the
residential buildings on the Estate.
An information leaflet is available to explain the
guidelines and what they mean for residents. Printed
copies are available to view at the City of London’s Planning
Department reception, Barbican Estate Office and libraries. You can
download the guidelines from the links below. If you have any

Conservation strategy
Work was carried out on the evaluation of the conservation
strategy in 2006/2007. Following extensive work with a small
focus group and consultation with residents in 2007, Barbican
Heritage was launched at its inaugural meeting on 29 November
2007.
Barbican Heritage is an independent organisation that will carry
out certain aspects of the Conservation Strategy.
