Development Management

The Department of the Built Environment processes applications for planning permission and related consents. This section provides information for applicants and for those who wish to comment on current applications or check past planning decisions.

Our service

Planning applications are the subject of negotiation and consultation to ensure that developments enhance the City’s architectural character, whilst providing modern accommodation appropriate to a world financial centre. 99% of applications for planning consent are approved by the City of London within 13 weeks.
