Special Innovation 2008 Award for West Ham Park

This was the first year that the special awards for Innovation were introduced along side the Green Flag Scheme. West Ham Park was recognised for its commitment to maintaining the Park to the highest possible standard. This was illustrated by a site based manual that was applauded as an example of best practice to the industry. The manual is written so that it can be clearly understood and adopted by staff across the team. Please visit Green Flag Award - Other Schemes - Innovation for more information.

In making this recommendation, the judges reviewed the work the Park has done to increase recycling and eliminate peat use, and also its recent introduction of a Parks Apprentice post. For further information on our work in these two areas please email.
