English Heritage identifies Kenley Airfield as "the most complete
fighter airfield associated with the Battle of Britain to have
survived". Six history boards explain its importance and the
role played by pilots, ground crew and local people during the two
World Wars. The throb of aero engines is rarely heard
here now, their place taken by gliders that circle silently
overhead - look to the skies!
The Kenley Heritage Trail runs around the outside of the
Airfield starting at the Kenley Tribute.
