Demolition - control and advice

In addition to Building Regulations approvals, if you propose to demolish a building in the City of London, section 80 of the Building Act 1984 requires you to send us a demolition notice. Please download and print the demolition notice and return it with a site plan and a detailed method statement to the address below.

Guidance is also available in the Department of Environmental Services’ Code of Practice for Deconstruction and Construction Sites. The code sets out acceptable site practice for construction and demolition in the City of London. It also contains contact details and the forms you need to submit before you start demolition.
