Complaints - breach of the Members' Code of Conduct

Changes to the complaints procedure

Responsibility for considering complaints that a Member or co-opted Member may have breached the Code of Conduct lies with the Standards Committee.

The Standards Committee can only deal with complaints about the behaviour of a Member or co-opted Member. The Committee cannot deal with complaints about things that are not covered by the Members’ Code of Conduct. Therefore, if you make a complaint to the Standards Committee it must be about why you think a Member or a co-opted Member has not followed the Code of Conduct.

What this means to you

If you wish to complain about the conduct of a Member of the City of London Corporation, you should submit your complaint to:

The Clerk to the Standards Committee
Town Clerk’s Office
City of London Corporation
PO Box 270
Guildhall
London EC2P 2EJ
