Place Survey

The Place Survey is a national Government survey run by local authorities to measure how satisfied residents are with the services provided to them and with the area where they live. The City of London is one of the highest performing authorities in the country. Key highlights are:

  • 97% of residents feel safe when in their local area during the day and 82% at night
  • 92% residents are satisfied with their local area as a place to live
  • 92% agree that people from different backgrounds get on well together
  • The City has a very low perception of anti-social behaviour being a problem
  • 89% of residents describe their health as good
  • 73% of residents are satisfied with the way that the City of London is runs services, with high levels of satisfaction for waste collection (91%), libraries (85%), museums/galleries (87%), theatre/concerts (85%) and local bus services (77%).

The next survey will take place in late 2010.

City Stakeholder Survey

Every three years the City of London Corporation surveys residents, workers, businesses and senior executives in the City to get a sense of how the 'Square Mile' and the City of London Corporation are being perceived. The last survey was in 2009 and the results and more details can be accessed on the City Stakeholder Survey web page.
