The City Together has developed a Compact to help strengthen the
City’s voluntary & community sector. The Compact provides a
framework for partnership working between the City of London
Corporation and the City’s public, private and voluntary &
community sectors, setting out what each can expect from one
another. The Compact recognises the contribution the voluntary
& community sector makes to society and is a key step in
building its capacity.
The Compact’s shared vision
“To ensure a cohesive and vibrant relationship between the
public and third sectors in the City of London - a relationship
that will promote our role as a world class city and maximise high
quality, accessible and responsive services for our worker,
residential, and business communities.”
In addition to Vision, the Compact includes three key
elements:
- Shared Principles – guiding how partners signed up to the
Compact will work together
- Codes of Practice – practical guidelines to help us achieve our
Shared Vision and Principles
- Implementation – how we will ensure the Compact works,
including how it will be implemented, monitored and reviewed and
how any disagreements will be resolved.
