You may also need to take advice from our Environmental Health
Officers, regarding
Food Hygiene and Health and Safety
Sexual Entertainment Venues (SEV's):
The Police and Crime Act 2009 has given local authorities
greater control over these venues (that provide lap dancing, pole
dancing and similar activities) including the option of rejecting
licence applications or limiting the number of SEVs in any one
area.
Following a public consulation and a decision by the Court of
Common Council the City of London has adopted its own policy on
SEV's.

Thank you to all those who participated in the consultation;
over 2100 responses were received. Further information regarding
SEV's can be obtained by calling 020 7332 3406, emailing

London 2012 Advertising and Trading
Regulations
The Advertising and Trading Regulations bring
in temporary restrictions to advertising and trading in open public
places, within a few hundred metres around competition venues
during the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
To define the areas where the restrictions will apply, Event
Zones have been established around every venue and route being used
during the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Where an event runs along a road route, such as the Road Cycle
Races or Marathons, the Event Zone includes the road route itself
and the pavement on each side of the road or, if there is no
pavement, the area two metres either side of the road.
You can find out when and where the Regulations apply by using
the postcode search tool on the London2012 website.
Controls within the Event Zones will apply during the Event
Periods – the times that the venues are being used for Olympic or
Paralympic events as well as in many cases covering the day before
the event (or a few days before at the Olympic Park).
You can find a full list of the when the Regulations apply at
each Event Zone in section eight of the Detailed Notice, available
on the London2012 website.
Applications for authorisation from either LOCOG for advertising
or ODA for trading are now open.
It is particularly important to note that the Regulations do not
replace the legal requirements that apply at all other times. Even
if an exception applies or authorisation has been granted by the
ODA you must ensure that, during the Event Periods at the time of
trading, you hold any other kind of licence, consent, certificate,
permission, or authority granted by a landowner, local authority or
any other person that is necessary for you to trade
